Crescent Moon and Venus Conjunction...
Last night coming home from celebrating my granddaughter’s 8th grade graduation at Buffalo Wild Wings, I saw this in the sky. I had read about it on one of my apps (I can’t remember which one) and was looking as we were driving home. When we got close to the house, I spotted it.
I got a video of it and posted it on YouTube just to see if I could get traction with it. When I went to bed, I had 30 views and no likes. When I got up this morning, I had over 1K views, 50+ likes and two new subscribers.

Mother's Day 2026 Storm
On Mother's Day, I got a notification of lightning detected in my area. I noticed clouds to the south of me and the wind picking up. I went to see what was going on. These are the best shots I was able to capture. I have a couple of shorts on my YouTube channel showing some of these strikes.

Pictures Added…
Hello. I wanted to let everybody know, I added quite a few pictures in the galleries on here. I will be adding more as I go through the several years of pictures (which is a bit tedious) I have taken and pick the ones I want to share. Right now, the Storm Photography gallery has the most pictures. The Vehicles gallery has the second most pictures in it.
I hope you enjoy them. Let me know which one(s) are your favorite(s). What type of pictures do you like to take? Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the pics.
Here we go again…
I am going to attempt to get this website up and running again. The reason is, my wife and youngest daughter went to the Herb and Plant Festival in Sunset, Louisiana. I was carrying my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with a Smallrig cage and handles to video some of the festival. I went to one of the booths and we started discussing the cage and it’s uses. The lady I was talking to asked me about my YouTube channel. When I gave her my name, this website came up. I was going to let the subscription elapse in July. I have changed my mind and will be focusing on getting this going again. I have a lot of YouTube content I will be sharing on here. If you are interested in following me there, here is the link, JD Kittles (Cajun WX Spotters). I post quite few shorts but will be starting on some long content before too long. Shorts are easier to post for me.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day and week. Semper Reformanda and Shalom.
Here is a short of my wife and I walking up to the festival.
Updated Gear List...
I recently upgraded/updated my camera gear for photography/videography.
I upgraded my camera from a Canon 50D to a Canon R6 Mark II. It can shoot full frame, APS-C (cropped) which I need with the lenses I have. The R6 came with a 24-105mm lens which works well but it doesn’t have a manual focus button like my Tamron 18-270mm lens. I use the Tamron when I am storm chasing. It can shoot video up to 4K60fps. It can also shoot slow motion (which is cool which trying to capture lightning. I’m still learning the capabilities of this camera and so far, I haven’t been disappointed.
My phone is a Samsung S24 Ultra and I’m using MotionCam Pro as the main camera app. MotionCam Pro is a paid camera app that allows you to shoot RAW. Yes, true RAW pictures and videos. The videos are huge because of the RAW data being captured. It is recommended you use an external SSD when capturing video.
I’m looking forward to sharing what I capture with my gear. Stayed tuned.

Vacation Bible School
This week, my wife and I have been helping with Vacation Bible School at church. We attend First Baptist Church in Opelousas, Louisiana. We have been going there for a couple of years now. My wife is leading the 3rd grade class and I’m going around getting pictures and video with my new camera. I bought a Canon EOS R6 Mark II mirrorless camera with a 24-105mm lens. The quality so far of the pictures and video (to include slow motion) has been impressive.
Tuesday evening, we had a nice storm pop up and I was able to capture some footage of some lightning. I still have to figure out some things on my camera, to include, manual focusing so I can get night time shots without the camera autofocusing. The lens itself doesn’t have the option to manual focus. My Tamron 18-270mm lens does but I need an adapter so I can use the lens (my next purchase).
