Storm shots from a cold front

This past Friday, we had a cold front come through the area. With the cold front, we had some storms pop up and it produced a nice light show. I was able to get some video and pictures after it passed the house. Here are some of the still shots I was able to get. The first shot was a double rainbow I was able to catch when I first starting shooting.

We are having a strong cold front come through later on this week. The temperatures are going to be in the 60s for highs and 40s for lows. I’m hoping for storms so I can get more lightning shots.

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Halloween week.

Storm Chasing Chronicles #3

Storm Chasing Chronicles #3 is up on YouTube. I finished editing the video last night and was able to upload it over night (yes my internet is that bad). I hope you enjoy the footage I was able to get. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel if you haven’t yet.

Thanks for watching. I greatly appreciate it. If you haven’t subscribed to my blog, please do so. I’m hoping to have Hurricane Laura coverage when she hits us Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

Thanks for supporting me. I greatly appreciate it. Shalom.

I got my pictures back!!!...

In yesterday’s blog post, I mentioned I lost my pictures from a storm chase the night before. I found a program called PhotoRec - Recover Deleted or Lost Files In Linux (I’m on Linux Mint 20). I used the program to scan my whole external hard drive to no avail (I had the incorrect settings). When I got up this morning, I scanned my SD card used to take the pictures. The first scan came up with nothing (wrong settings again). When I used the correct settings, it worked. I got my pictures back. The program even found pictures from earlier this year. I’m so stoked. Now I can edit and share the best shots from Saturday night. I will share later this week (maybe today).

Thanks for all the support. It’s appreciated.

What a weekend...

Oh, where to start? Friday, I was getting ready for work. I adjusted my pants and my back seized up on me. I have been having problems for almost two weeks now with having spasms. This time, it locked up on me. I tried to sit down on my bed and ended up in the praying position, unable to move. My wife brought me an ice pack, and it helped enough so I could lie down on the floor. After being there for about 20 minutes, I was able to stand up and go to my chair. I have been fighting this ever since. I could maneuver around better on Saturday. I could make it out of bed a tad easier this morning without having to roll out like yesterday.

In the afternoon, we had a nice thunderstorm come through the area. I shot video footage of the storm cells coming in and once it passed; I followed it in my car. There was lots of lightning, so I spent over an hour taking storm shots. I made it home, transferred my pictures onto my external hard drive like I do. Got up today, and those images aren’t on my drive. I took some of the best lightning shots and they aren’t there. Poof. I’m trying to recover the pictures. I hoping this works. We shall see.

I was getting footage with my phone. Here is one of the best shots I got. At least I have something to share.

Caught with my phone

Sorry for the long post. This isn’t my norm, but I wanted to get it out there. Please subscribe to my website or to my YouTube channel, if you haven’t. I would appreciate it.

Lightning Compilation

I was going through my videos and noticed a lightning compilation one from last year when I went all over the area to chase storms. I forgot I had posted it on YouTube so here is the video.

These are some of the best lightning strikes I’ve gotten on video. I hope you enjoy the video with the music.

Have a good one and stay safe out there. Peace.

Storm Chasing Chronicles Part #2 is up

I was able to storm spot or chase from May 23rd to May 28th. The video below are highlights from each day. There was no way I could have put every lightning strike into one video without it being over 20 minutes long. I hope you enjoy it.

If you liked it, please let me know in the comments below. If you haven’t subscribed to my YouTube channel or to my blog, please do so. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and have a good one. Peace.
