Lightning Shots - 3 different ways

We had storms come through here in southern Louisiana yesterday and there was lots of lightning. Once my duty day ended at four o’clock, I got into my car and tried to get some lightning shots. I had my phone shooting video and my Samsung Gear 360 was going in the back of my car. The shots below are from three different ways I was able to capture lightning.

There are different ways to capture lightning if you have the patience. For example, I took over 40 minutes of video with the 360 camera and this was the best lightning strike I got.

I hope you enjoyed the lightning shots as much as I enjoyed being out there and getting them. I love storm photography.

Please like, comment, and subscribe if you haven’t. I hope you have an outstanding day. Peace.

Storm chase shots...

John here.

There was a nice thunderstorm yesterday that was producing some really nice lightning. Since I had to run to the store for medical supplies, I decided to do a bit of storm spotting. I finally found a spot where I could get some nice video footage and these shots were pulled from the video.

When I got the video, I didn’t know I had gotten these lightning strikes. I love getting lightning shots when I can.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week. Take care.

I’m outta here.

John

Trip to New Orleans

John here.

This past weekend, my family and I, to include my Mom, went to New Orleans. My Mom has never been and we wanted to go again. One of the places we went to was St Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square. If you have never been to New Orleans, that is one place you need to visit. I was able to take my Samsung Gear 360 camera and get a 360 shot inside the church.

Tiny planet of inside St Louis Cathedral shot with a Samsung Gear 360 camera.

Tiny planet video

John here.

My family and I went to Alexandria, Louisiana this past weekend to visit a coffee shop and do some site seeing. I had my Samsung Gear 360 camera with me. Here is a tiny planet video of me crossing the Hwy 167 bridge over the Red River in downtown Alexandria.

Tornado Warned Storm

John here.

One of my passions is storm spotting/chasing (though not recommended), storm photography, and storm videography (still a noob at it). I have been storm spotting for a while but officially here in southern Louisiana since 2013 with the Cajun Weather Spotters.

Back in May of 2018, there was a severe warned cell that turned tornadic. A tree limb fell on someone’s truck and some other damage. I was east of the storm when I got some footage. The video below is part of the footage.
