My 365 Project has started...

I started my 365 project yesterday. I am currently going through and making some adjustments to my website and one of the adjustments I made was the type of page I am using for my 365 project. From now on, I am going to make a quick post about the picture and post it here.

August is going to be busy...

Yep. Today is August 1st. This is probably going to be the busiest month for me this year. Let me explain everything happening this month. This month is going to fly by.
I start a 365 photography project today. I am going to take a picture everyday for the next year and see where it goes after that. Last time I started a 365 project, I shot for over 1,100 (1,137 days if I’m not mistaken). I’m going to practice things I don’t normally do, like portrait photography. This is going to be a fun project.
School starts in a week. I’m a computer repair technician for a local school board here in Louisiana. Yesterday, we had to shut down the Internet completely because there is some ransomware out there attacking the school districts. Four school districts have been hit here in Louisiana so our governor has declared a state of emergency and steps are being taken to “hopefully defeat this virus.” I will keep everyone updated on this. I have been voluntold to be a cameraman for our convocation or pep-rally next week before school starts. We have 48 sites with technology and five people in my shop. This school year is going to be extremely busy.
There are a couple of birthdays this month - my wife, Melody, Her website is mkrmauthor.com and she is a published author. Check out her site and sign up for her newsletter. My daughter in law has a birthday too. My father in law also has a birthday.
I am going dark on my social media starting August 4th. I’m only active on Instagram and somewhat active on Twitter. I’m going to concentrate on my website and YouTube (maybe start posting on Vimeo). Expect more posts from me starting next week.

My newest vlog is up on YouTube. After trying several different places to upload my vlog, I was able to get it uploaded at work. Here it is.

365 Project and Instagram hiatus...

I added a new page on my website for the upcoming 365 project I am about to start on August 1st. With all of the traveling I do to work, sometimes while at work, and back home from work, I have several places where I can get pictures. I’m either going to use my Canon 50D or my Samsung Galaxy S10+ to take my pictures. I will start carrying my Canon with me (like I did all the time before) so I can get some shots with it. When I post the picture of the day, I will also post which camera I used and the settings I used on the camera. My last 366 project turned into a multi year project where I took over 1,100 shots in a row.
Next topic - Instagram hiatus. I am very active on Instagram. I’m probably too active on it. I have noticed here recently that my numbers are down quite a bit. When I usually post, I get decent numbers of people liking my work but now my numbers are way down. After doing a bit of research, I feel like I’m being “shadowbanned” which means my content isn’t going out to most of my followers. One of the suggestions to stop the shadowbanning is to stop posting content for a couple of weeks and then start back slowly. Well, I’m taking most of the month of August off from Instagram. So, starting August 5th, which is a Monday, I am going to stop posting on Instagram and put my content on here. I normally post a scripture of the day and a couple of pictures or videos depending on what I’m doing and seeing. Depending on how things are going will depend on if I continue with Instagram in September or not.
Day 365 of 2014
The above picture is from a ferry ride we took on New Years Eve 2014 while on a road trip to Galveston Texas. My family and I hopped in the car and drove the coast road in southern Louisiana to get to Galveston. No interstates at all heading west. We had to take a ferry and this seagull was on the boat and I was able to get a decent shot of it.

365 day or 52 week project

I wanted to let everyone know, I am going to start a 365 day photography project on August 1st. I have been neglecting my photography on my Canon 50D so the best way for me to get back into my photography is to start a project like this. This isn’t the first time I started a 365 project. I will have a vlog talking about on YouTube tomorrow and I will share it here on my blog.
Is anybody willing to join me in this journey? There is nothing special that has to be done except taking a picture everyday of something. Anything. Let me know in the comments. If you believe you can not take on a 365 project then think about doing a 52 week project. One picture a week. We all take at least one picture a week.

I don’t normally take selfies in the bathroom but I was dressed up for a photography showing from a good photography friend of mine. We have been following each others work for a few years now. Here is a link to his website if you want to check out his work. You won’t be disappointed in his work.
