Goodbye and Shalom

This is going to be my last post on this website. I am calling it quits before I get silenced and have to call it quits. Let me explain.

There are lots of conservative voices being silenced on social media right now. Since I am a conservative and the way things are heading, I will eventually be silenced. I am taking the proper steps to silence myself and leave on my own terms.

I have enjoyed posting on this site. I hope you learned something new to help you with your photography or editing your pictures.

I have enjoyed sharing my stories of hurricanes coming through, pictures taken, and everything in between.

Take care and Shalom.

Flowers - specifically Roses

Welcome to Fall! During this week, we had the Fall Equinox here in the United States. Our temperatures have been fall like because of Tropical Storm Beta keeping it cloudy, rainy, and cool here in southern Louisiana. The rain has helped the rose bushes for their second blooming. I noticed the roses starting to bloom again earlier this week. I love getting rose shots. Here is one I got from earlier this week.

I will be posting more flower shots on here as they bloom. There are all kinds of flowers. When I’m not getting storm shots, flowers are one of my favorite things to capture.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and weekend. Shalom.

Sunrises

I love taking sunrise shots. For me, it is convenient because when I step out of my front door, I’m facing east. I can go to the end of my driveway and take pictures. When storms come from that direction, I can drive my car to the end of my driveway and take pictures and video.

This week and parts of last week, I have been able to get sunrise. When I am heading to work, I stop and get shots. Here are the ones I’ve gotten the past couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy them.

TouchRetouch App for mobile photography editing

One of my goals with this blog/website is to provide free resources for people who like to edit pictures on their phones. Today I will talk about the TouchRetouch App (Google) (IOS). I have had this app on my phone for a while now and I put it to the test yesterday, editing a lightning shot from this past weekend’s storm. Below is a before and after of the picture using the app.

If you are into using your phone for your whole photography process, I recommend this app.

I got my pictures back!!!...

In yesterday’s blog post, I mentioned I lost my pictures from a storm chase the night before. I found a program called PhotoRec - Recover Deleted or Lost Files In Linux (I’m on Linux Mint 20). I used the program to scan my whole external hard drive to no avail (I had the incorrect settings). When I got up this morning, I scanned my SD card used to take the pictures. The first scan came up with nothing (wrong settings again). When I used the correct settings, it worked. I got my pictures back. The program even found pictures from earlier this year. I’m so stoked. Now I can edit and share the best shots from Saturday night. I will share later this week (maybe today).

Thanks for all the support. It’s appreciated.

Website Update

Those who have been following my blog/site for a bit, you will notice I made two changes. When you show up to my site, I now have a video instead of pictures. I also changed my blog format. I will shift from Facebook and Instagram to my website. There are too many distractions and I’m not getting any kind of traction, especially on Instagram.

One of my favorite photographers, Dave Morrow, has a video talking about getting off of social media, concentrating on your website and uploading to YouTube. I’m contemplating going that route soon. Here is the video I’m talking about.

Thanks for your support on this site. I appreciate it. My focus will be here showing my photography, videography, and other cool stuff.

Have a good one. Peace.
